NovoRapid® is used to reduce high blood sugar in adults, adolescents and children 1 year of age and older with diabetes mellitus (diabetes). Diabetes is a disease where your body does not produce enough insulin to control your blood sugar level. Treatment with NovoRapid® helps prevent complications from your diabetes.

NovoRapid® will start to lower your blood sugar 10 to 20 minutes after the injection, a maximum effect occurs 1 to 3 hours after the injection and the effect lasts 3 to 5 hours. Due to this short action, NovoRapid® should normally be taken in combination with long acting or long acting insulin preparations.
